Our Ship
USS Columbia is a Sovereign-class starship featuring five torpedo launchers, 12 phaser emitters, and a normal cruising speed of Warp 8. She is 680 meters long, 240 meters wide, and 87 meters tall, with 24 decks and a standard crew complement of 700.

Our Namesake
USS Columbia is named in honor of the Space Shuttle Columbia, which was lost with all hands during re-entry on February 1, 2003.
Ships Named Columbia
The name Columbia has a rich history in the Naval and space service. 10 ships named Columbia saw service with the United States Navy, and at least two canon Starfleet vessels and two Royal Canadian Navy ships have borne the name as well.
- Columbia, later known as Columbia Rediviva, a private vessel that became the first American ship to circumnavigate the globe, and which later became the namesake of the Columbia River, the province of British Columbia, the command module of the Apollo 11 mission, and the Space Shuttle Columbia--in whose honor we are named
- USS Columbia, a 50-gun sailing frigate in service from 1836 to 1861
- USS Columbia, a captured Confederate screw steamer in service until 1863
- USS Columbia, an ironclad placed in service by the Confederate Navy in 1864 and captured by Union forces in 1865
- USS Columbia (C-12/CA-12), a protected cruiser in service from 1894 to 1921 and later renamed Old Columbia
